Summer Mission Trip 2018
It’s that time of the year again, and once again, StMUCC is sending a group of volunteers to teach English in some of the areas in Egypt that are most in need of it.
Tourism is a major pillar of the Egyptian economy, making English skills invaluable, as they open up job prospects and opportunities in the near future for the youth we teach. Our English course is based on the English syllabus taught at Egyptian public schools, and thus greatly aids our students in understanding what they’re being taught, as well as improving their English skills as a whole.
This year, we will be sending two groups of volunteers, one to Quos and the other to King Mariut. The trip will run from the 6th to the 19th August 2018.
We will spend ten days teaching and at weekends we get free sightseeing trips to the nearby monasteries and touristic attractions. On the last day we arrange an award ceremony where each student receives a course certificate and a gift.
You will definitely have a great experience.
You need to be aged 16 - 35 to apply. Accommodation, food and drink are free, as well as pick up and drop off at Luxor International Airport for the Quos team, or the city of Cairo for the King Mariut team, however, you will need to book your own flight to Egypt.
As part of the application process you will need to pay a £100 deposit to StMUCC . This is to reserve your place on the trip. You will be repaid the £100 in full at the end of the trip, provided you attend for the whole duration mentioned above. Alternatively, you may choose to leave your deposit with us as a donation to StMUCC .
If you would like to join us, please fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch with you shortly afterwards with more information.
